My name is Paul Torri, President of Allied Home Services. I have been in business for myself since 1989 when I started a landscaping business called Helping Hands Landscaping. It didn’t take long to realize that my main customer demographic were senior homeowners age 55 and older.
Happy customers would frequently ask me if I knew people that could provide other services for them. Those services would range from repairing a loose railing or cleaning their gutters to building a deck or painting their home. I kept hearing the same things over and over. They couldn’t find contractors that they could trust or that would even call them back in a timely manner.
I was always hungry for extra work and sympathetic to the needs of my customers so I decided to take on some of the extra work myself. Soon I found myself so busy that I could not handle the workload myself. I hired employees and soon blossomed from a small landscaping company into a full-fledged home improvement company.
This started out great but with expansion come growing pains as well. The most difficult part of doing business was not getting the work. My biggest problem was finding qualified reliable employees to do the work. I have always been a man of my word. If I tell a customer I will be there at 9 am. I will be there. If I’m going to be late for any reason I give the common courtesy of a telephone call. When employees did not live by the same work ethic I was used to, or were not able to perform the quality of work my customers were used to… I felt I was unable to provide the service my customers were used to. I decided then that it was time to narrow my focus.
I sold Helping Hands in 1994 and opened Torri Gutters and Downspouts. I enjoyed specializing in gutters. I had done enough of them over the years with Helping Hands to realize that it was something that everyone needed, something that was often installed improperly and something that required maintenance i.e. gutter cleaning. It was also something that did not rely heavily on workforce. If someone didn’t show up for work I could usually do the work myself.
In 2001 I sold my thriving gutter business and my home in Massachusetts and moved to the beautiful state of South Carolina. I settled here in the Myrtle Beach area and have been running Torri Gutters and Siding ever since.
During the last ten years as a contractor here I have seen many contractors come and go, and as it has always been, customers never fail to ask me for recommendations. I have, in the last ten years, developed great relationships with contractors throughout the area. We have all suffered through the last few years of economic disaster but are still here. It is my belief that we have all survived not only because of our quality of workmanship but also because of our work ethic.
In January of 2011, I incorporated Allied Home Services. I have partnered with who I believe are the best of our areas service contractors. My vision is to bring the highest quality service at competitive rates to my customers GUARANTEED.
I’m confident that if you call us for any of our services, that you will call on us again and again for each of our home services. Thank you in advance for trying us.
